What am I missing here? I don’t see how he’s coming off as uninhibited.

He's always been somewhat of a recluse when it comes to the media in general and especially social media. When he has posted stuff or had stuff posted about him it's usually things relating to his band or whatever show or movie he is in. The acting stuff often just cut and past promotional material. So seeing him chilling in bed, taking pics with his girlfriend etc is like him opening up a window into his personal life he's never done before.
