The Liberty Counsel (more about them later) have created a fake medical group that is not real. Its called The American College of Pediatricians, which is a fake, professional-sounding "group" invented to disseminate misinformation about homosexuality. But the problem is they are a pseudo sub group created by the right wing, anti-gay, ultra conservative Liberty Counsel. Check Liberty Counsel for their most recent PR alert being sent to school educators all over the wonderful USA to be on the alert for students who show same-sex attraction, act masculine if they are female, act female if they are male, etc. And they go on to spout information that was considered to be true prior to 1969 when the American Psychiatric Association concluded that homosexuality is just homosexuality, not a disease, not a mental illness. No need to try and "cure" gays and lesbians. There's nothing wrong with us.
Now the pseudo American College of Pediatricians does have a list of real doctors, fifteen of them as a matter of fact. But they are all old codgers who still cling to the lies of the scientifically discredited National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH). You can read more about these stooges at: NARTH Home Page Voila, how hard is that? However, NARTH still clings to the idea that neurosis is a disease. The American Psychiatric Association decided en masse several decades ago that being "neurotic" was a faux diagnosis. Yet, the term still has currency with those who hate to give it up. In fact, the American Psychiatric Association, APA, whose motto is "Member Driven, Science Based, Patient Focused" has discredited NARTH for decades as a bunch of archaic loons. In my opinion, the APA has correctly characterized NARTH. They ARE a bunch of loons.
Now, there is a real pediatricians group, the 60,000 member American Academy of Pediatrics, is actually quite gay-friendly and has endorsed gay parenting. Check out: AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS WEB SITE Again, how hard is that to find? Hey, if you feel like it, send these guys some money! They know what they are doing.

Yeah, it's a blog, but at least of the same quality as The Huffington Post. And Tim Kincaid, the author of the article Bogus "American College of pediatricians" distributes deliverately fraudelent anti-gay propaganda schools, is a well-respected free-lance writer on gay rights who is supported by the APA. I'm sure NARTH hasn't a clue who he is. They seem too old to still be able to read cogently.

Go to: Liberty Counsel and decide for yourself if this loose group (anyone can whip up a web page) has the best interests of all 'Mericuhns at the center of their mission, or are they just one of the more loonier fringe neo-christianist evangelical lie machines you've ever had the ickiness to check out. By drilling down on their site's list of resources you'll eventually come across links to the Ku Klux Klan. Hey, I guess they have the right to spread hate and lies just as well as anyone else in a free society.
Confusing? Not really. But the christianist loons are doing everythingi they can to demonize gays, spread disinformation, and preach hate. Not nice people. :frown1:
