I've just remembered this isn't true - some friends got married a couple of years before me... I was very ill just before and only just out of hospital but I drove people all over the day before and the morning of the wedding - including making several trips to get the food from the house of the friend who was catering to the reception. I was actually quite hurt when they thanked pretty much everyone there but not me. The groom was, til he met her, a FWB so maybe that's why. Though she and I were very friendly and I was one of only 14 invited to the actual wedding ceremony.
