It's because it's cheap and practical bottle to use for lube. Fisting Lube like jlube and xlube come in powder form and need to be mixed with water to be activated. Gatorade bottles are convenient for mixing the lube and the hole is big enough to allow the lube to pass through. Furthermore, the spout can be closed so lube will not spill everywhere.

Not an odd question at all. I usually just cut my nails short and file down any sharp or jagged edges. After I will run my finger nails on my bottom lip to test for any sharp edges. Just before a fisting session I will wash my hands.
