And while you're at it, don't instigate a situation.
So let me get this straight: Panthera admittedly stepped forward to flame me as his first post, but I'm an 'instigator'? I see.

I deliberately tempered my post here to make it more sensitive and less accusatory.

Oh? Why the change in policy?

Panthera's wrong for calling you out -- and granted, his post bordered on belligerance

At least you admit that. At first you didn't tell Panthera that he did anything wrong ... of course, why should you? He already knew it. You simply told him that you hope he would "contribute to this site in different ways other than doubting people." But this was immediately followed by sentence that seemed to say, "but hey, it was okay to flame Dub; I felt the same way." Ah, good ol' Dee. On the old board you were quick to imply that PLD was not to blame for his unprovoked attacks against me; how refreshing to know that the Blackthornian view of the world remains constant.

So why are we still...?

Oh, here we go again...
So let me get this straight: Panthera admittedly stepped forward to flame me as his first post, but I'm an 'instigator'?  I see.
No, you don't, so let me clarify, then.  My first response here only insisted that Panthera devote his flameworthy energies somewhere else.  Panthera can love you or hate you however he pleases; that's his business.  I only urged that this outburst be the first and last time he demonstrates his feelings, with hope that he'll give some good insight or an interesting perspective or any of the tens or hundreds of topics available on here.

Really, 'cause God forbid if people find more interesting subjects than you to discuss on here.  I mean, I'm wholly grateful that you can still quote (or cut-and-paste) all those choice words I had for you, but it only left me wondering -- have you let that go yet?
Oh? Why the change in policy?
The picture change came under my observation, that's all...

Frankly, your selections of avatars look dissimilar enough to warrant some confusion.  I don't remember much of the first one except a penis -- that got you into more than enough commotion on here with the whole "Just because I'm naked on my avatar doesn't mean I'm just a guy with a big dick," and some such.

The second?  Lots of muscles, but the first guy wasn't built like that.  Not at all.

The third?  Considerably younger, to the extent that I had you dated for a young adolescent, 15 years no older.  I don't know.  I mean, I'm not studying your avatars closely so I wasn't comparing similar facial structures, depictions of age.

They didn't look the same to me, period.  Of course, someone else might tell you something different.  Some believe they're all you.  Some think that it's all utter bullshit.  And some like me probably don't give a damn what or who you use to personify your presence on the board.  It's a damn picture, for cryin' out loud!
But this was immediately followed by sentence that seemed to say, "but hey, it was okay to flame Dub; I felt the same way."
If you must micro-quote me, the sentence read:  "But at the same time, I'm with Sammy and I'm sure quite a few of us (who wish not to speak up) took a double- or triple-take."

What part of that isn't true again?  Sammy and I had similar reactions.  Fact.  Did others?  I don't know; I don't have any definitive proof, but I don't see why arguing "yea" here would make much difference.  Irregardless of the number of LPSGers who noticed your picture, nobody really seemed too concerned with it except Panthera.  He got that flame out of his system.  Woo.

Even though you say you don't care if he flamed you, you care enough to give veiled comments and subtle slights.  What a man you are.
...how refreshing to know that the Blackthornian view of the world remains constant.
Yes, and how refreshing it is to add here...  shut the fuck up.  Damn.

Rich2003: To put things very simply, different personalities and opinions are what make this site work.

I always look forward and RESPECT DMW's views and even though i'm fairly new, get the impression that there would be a big gap to be filled without him.

I personally think Panthera is secretly threatened by DMW's intellect and opinions and this is his way of coping- a little bit jealous r we Panthera????????

Y'know, there's a joke here somewhere--something about DMW and big things and gaps to be filled with him, but I'm trying really hard to let it go...

(Was feeling almost frisky enough to add a comment on the other thread about Panthera's punch in DMW's "pretty nose" to ask Whopper "Which nose...?" but decided not to "go there" about the whole avatar pic brouhaha. Oh wait...I just went there, huh...?)

DMW, y'know I'm kidding. I'll actually be glad when "Diss Dub Week" is over. Didn't do much for me. And to our new voice Panthera: maybe the whole SARS-thing just has you Toronto peeps a little stressed-out and "edgy"...

It's also good in comparative linguistics. Merkin English was a l33t form of British English at first.
