for UK guys, a quarter is about the same size as a 10p (2.4cm).

haha i'll have to give this a try and see how many i can fit.. the only trouble i can see for me is mine points straight up.

I actually went and got some change from a shop just to try this! I got to 7, almost got 8 but the last one overlapped a bit

Oh, and in the previous post, was the second quarter from the tip the WA state philadelphia minted quarter? I'm missing that one in my collection if you want to send it my way...
