Help me out on thisone... furries are a subculture of people who enjoy dressing up like animals and having sex while on the suit?

If it's like that I don't think it can affect your life in any way, I assume it's more like a in-bed attitude than a life choice. If you're into bondage doesn't mean you're gonna go to your office wearing leather pants and cuffs.

It's a fashion statement much like the people who dress as vampires or zombies. Very few of the latter actually are cannibalistic, right?

My original discomfort with 'furry' was based on the fact that I had it confused with bestiality, which is cruel because animals cannot give consent. It is not that at all. Real animals are seldom involved except as ordinary pets, not as sex toys.

The fact is for some reason sexuality is considered to be an 'animalistic' part of us, rather than a divine part of us, by so many humans, that they find it comforting to think of their sexual nature as a type of beast. That beast is usually not actually like the species but rather a collection of concepts the person has about the species in general.

We are conditioned by the animal fables and childrens literature to accept things done and expressed by this liminal sort of creation as harmless and comforting. Dogs playing poker.

One cannot judge a whole group just by the way a few extremists act! If your not part of the group nor had real contact with plenty of people of that group, then you lack the required information.

THIS IS DAMN LPSG! They're basicly the same as the people here. Only that they like anthromorphism and people here like big dicks (often matches thought). Sure there's a percentage of people amongst the furry fandom who are into animal fucking and dress up as animals, but hey... there's a percentage of people on LPSG who don't care about the risk of STDs and willingly give their bodies to random people they just met, just to have quickie sex!
