I heard of this. Mainly because I was wearing a necklace and posted a pic on a forum and they were like..."Are you gay?" and I was just confused.

See...gay people need to let straight guys know these things beforehand so we can adapt or something. LOL

Red Hankee, mean he likes for you to stick your arm you know where. If its on his right, he likes to recieve, on his lift, he likes to plow with his arm,

Otherwise referred to as fistfucking?

Sometimes I think it's an emo gang sign.

That reminds me that I did see a guy who's in an emo band wearing a hankee in his rear pocket a while back and wondered what he was communicating with it. Are there emo gangs now?

Anyway, this guy also had a religious tattoo that might be a gang indication, but the carefully posed boot untying was like he was shoving the red hankee in my direction for some purpose...

Sorry, he wasn't wearing a necklace, didn't mean to hijack the thread!

That would be interesting though. A necklace code. Saves part of the conversation when you are in bars. But then you've got to be right up on the person to see the necklace because of how dark it is in the bars.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have badges - 'Fist me till I scream,' 'I love it up the tradesman's entrance,' 'spunk in my mouth.' It'd save so much time working out who's gay.

All joking aside, i do think there is a trend in youth-oriented gay culture to wear a man-necklace, usually some sort of rope/hemp/seashell concoction. I imagine the origins lie in Abercrombie & Fitch ads that had/have a strong gayboy following. Just as '80s were to tiny symbols of (gay) non-conformity,the '90s and 2000s are to small necklaces or bands are symbols of (gay) non-conformity.

ROTFLMAO!

I used to work with a young guy at a museum in New England who was 22, and right out of college. Great personality, smart, funny, nice looking and on his first day of work I thought he was gay. Why? Because he was wearing a puka shell necklace on a piece of hemp. No one told me this was a "gay thing" it was really just a guess. He waited until his probationary period was over to tell us he was gay but it didnt matter he was a great person and worker. As a matter of fact I left that job 6 years ago, he left 4 years ago and we still keep in touch.

Then again David Cassidy wore the same type necklace in the early 1970's and I don't recall any rumors that he was gay.

I suppose if it really matters to you, you could always just ask if the person is gay or not.

LOL EMO gangs. That's thfuniest thing I've heard in a while. Maybe the Emo punk is amo because he keeps wearing the hanky in the wrong alley. Honestly there is no gay codes now. That wristband one could easily get a guy into trouble. Lukily the guy I found wearing one wa gay but I still don't really know the colors or where to find them so I gave up on that. H weore a white and I think light blue or aqua, but I though it was just fashion.

As for necklace there isn't a gay surf code. It'd be too hard to determing but the neckwear. Surfers generally wear beads, tooth, shell bits or rope as necklace as sign that they surf, and is comon surffer fashion. It's like trying to say certain jean washes emplyed gay or not. it's nothing.

Living near the beach in a surfing community, when you said "surfing" in your original post, I thought of surfing in the ocean. Right away, I'm wondering "where is this guy going to go surfing and see all of these gay guys?". Maybe you had to be there, but I was trippin' out. I would have checked out that beach for sure. We have something close - Black's Beach just north of La Jolla. When I saw your post that I quoted, I knew that you meant surfing the net.

I thought the same thing, hence I asked why he thought they were gay. In retrospect, I thought it was odd that he knew that surfers were gay or not, but now I understand...I live near the beach as well...see where our minds went (hah).

I was here and remember when Lex posted it

"Does this make me a honorary member?"

Oh my goodness... LOL...

That's so... gay!

I'll wear yellow hankies in both pockets as long as there's some way I could say that I'm looking for females..

That's surprisingly complex, though. At least a bunch of them make sense with just a bit of thought. The brown corduroy and the mosquito netting are pretty cute, too.

I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is. <HEHEHE>

Seriously, I am gay and don't know of any necklace code. The only "code" I ever show is when I wear my "BOTTOM BOI" T-Shirt.

That's a excellent code. I'd like to run into you when you're wearing that!
