That's a pretty crappy way to put it, it makes it sound like they're being tactically vindictive.

I haven't looked at the veracity of this claim, but generally, its not uncommon for victims to come forward after some time has passed. Given the stigma, and the social connections, it can be really confronting and traumatic. Moreover, they are often scared of further victimisation, especially when the accused has a fanbase.
Yeah, if millions of people were trusting someone that I knew to be shitty, I'd probably also wanna say something about that.

Yeah, and specifically for these cases you can add the fear victims may have of the assaulter's fans just disregarding their statements and them sending these fans, directly or indirectly, to harass them.

Shelby speaking out on Wilbur gave them the courage to speak out as well

Not to mention, the things George apparently did here allegedly happened within the last year. This is not waiting years and years for him to get famous, this is supposedly something he's been dong while he's famous and, if everything is true and there was a coverup, he's probably still the sort of person who would do these things. If an allegation about anyone ever is true, it is in many more people than just the victims best interests if they come forward about it.

Honestly I would never have guessed he's capable of this. Makes me wonder how many other cc's are horny freaks irl.

I’m hoping that he is innocent but it’s not looking good for him on twitter. He is planning to go live and show proof that he didn’t SA the victim, but it will probably end up being his word against hers which won’t help him at all in the long run.

Would not be surprised at this rate. So many YouTubers and CC’s have been accused and such. If it’s true then it’s another one biting the dust I guess

Dream disproved all his allegations and his haters still call him a groomer/pedo, so as long as you have dedicated haters, you really can't do much. George can provide all the proof he wants, his haters and the other girl's fans are still gonna take her word

I feel relieved that his statement makes a lot of sense, and it seems that it was indeed just a misunderstanding. And the best part is that I think he convinced some of the Twitter users who still have some brain left.

Twitter is always gonna automatically take the side of the "victim", no questions asked

He blamed her for not saying no despite her being drunk, come on guys
He worded some things weirdly, especially with the speculation at the end, but he also gave a lot of relevant info.

They were all drinking; she left many times to go to the bathroom, get more drinks, etc. and would come back to continue cuddling; she walked him back to the elevator to say goodbye and stayed in touch for months after, asking to hang out again at one point; etc. The photos also show that a lot of what she said was false (e.g., she and her friends were wearing 21+ wristbands from an event prior and were asking to come over and play drinking games, reversing that part of her story).

The gist is that, while cuddling, he had his hand on her waist, under the shirt. He says that the vibes he got from her at the time were mutual, so he didn’t expect this at all. A lot of other people are saying that he should have been more explicit and outright asked if she was okay with that, so what he did is wrong.

Sorry for the forecoming block, but I wanted to get my thoughts out about this. Very weird to be doing this on a porn forum, but I can honestly say this is the most reasonable discussion of the topic I've seen.

Having now seen both accounts, I don't think anyone is necessarily solely to blame, although ultimately we would need corroborating testimony from others who were present to be more determinative of the facts.

It's terrible that she now feels that his behaviour was sexually abusive. It clearly makes her very emotional, and I'm sure those feelings are genuine.

At the same time, though, I do feel bad for George. Yes, messing around with drunk people is never going to end well and that is a judgement he should have made. But, on the basis of his characterisation, he didn't do anything that wasn't impliedly accepted. Silence is not consent, but consent can be implied, and it sounds like his experience was of friendly affection from her over the course of the night. Should he have asked more explicitly? absolutely. But his experience was of a girl who was, at least in his words, having fun, being friendly and showing nothing but affection as they became more and more intimate. It's unfair to make him out as some horrible monster as a result.

I don't love his theory that she has retroactively convinced herself that the experience was traumatic given the attitude of her friendgroup - I think its probably more along the lines that she was drunk, caught up in the moment and all that made her unclear of her own feelings at the time.

Of course, this is all based on my good faith assumption that he has described his experiences honestly. I'm inclined to believe the bulk of what he said, given that the messages he showed on stream generally fit with the vibes he was describing.

Ultimately another great reason why parasocial relationships suck. She probably would have had her thoughts and feelings clearer if she wasn't a viewer, and wasn't influenced by the whole 'bigger creator' dynamic, and may have felt more confident expressing discomfort in the situation.

This discussion is interesting & it goes to show who has never been in a real life sexual encounter.

Generally, I’m fed up of seeing all over social media that consent should be X when in reality, it’s not black and white. In real life scenarios, people aren’t asking for explicit consent. People need to understand implied consent - if someone’s uncomfortable they should speak up. Obviously, there’s times where that’s more difficult/doesn’t apply.

Of course, no means no. But, the yes part doesn’t always have to be verbal.

I’d like to hear anyone else’s opinion!
