I was at school with him for 7 years. Very weird seeing him now. For anyone wondering, he was quite pleasant, moderately popular albeit quite shy as a younger teen, and amongst the smarter and more engaged kids. He was also a little pretentious, a little self-centred, and could be a little catty. He was good at applying himself, but also always put a lot of effort into making others aware of the fact that he was applying himself.
He came out around 17, and really cranked up his personality around that age (either a natural byproduct of being open about who he was or a conscious move to be someone different). He had no interest in sport or the gym, and in fact was really eager to be very thin (I had experience of dysmorphia and recognised tendencies in him).
His content isn't for me , but he seems to have a following that appreciate what he puts out, which is clearly of mutual benefit.
