I remember reading in the early 90s that he worked with Madonna. He later said she was one of the sleaziest people he'd ever met and that she'd have a lot of answering to do when she was at the Pearly Gates. Ever since then, I've thought of him as a Born Again Christian, Full Gospell type, which would certainly dovetail with homophobia.

Harry Connick Jr is definitely in the category of "sexy cool". He's such a private celebrity that it would be difficult to get a read on him on just about anything. Still, he seems like such a chill dude that I would be surprised (and a little disappointed) if he was a homophobe.
I never knew Sean Hayes was really gay. Wasn't he married at one time? Yes, I know that marriage doesn't prove "straightness", but that's what led me to believe he was. I'd had always given Hayes high props for his acting-- but maybe now it wasn't that much of an acting stretch!
I used to think that the "Jack" character was a way too-over-the-top stereotype, but then I've met a few gays that make Jack look butch!

Well, jbjb, here's a blog site that suggests he isn't at all homophobic.
I have no idea if the Connick quote is accurate, but if it is, I think we can assume he's a pretty open, accepting guy.
And somehow that fits my impression.

I'm thinking that a guy who is surrounded by women all the time, has no men in his life, and "wouldn't know what to do with a guy" is pretty strong evidence that he is NOT gay. But, as you point out, his willingness to publically express the possibility contraindicates homophobia on his part.
Thanks for finding that quote. I'm not sure how credible it is, but the matter-of-fact attitude is exactly how I would have pegged him. More importantly, the pic is hot. I'm lovin' the casual, scruffy look with piercing blue eyes. The boy's got ALL THE SHIT!
