One of the greatest photos of all time.
Does anyone have the original of this photo before it was smoothed? Could you upload it so we can see the original? Thanks.

Two more examples from Binky.I’ve been digging into the history of Binky. International Homosexual Magazine, and here’s what I’ve pieced together so far.
The magazine was published out of The Hague by a company called Mulko International, with Robert Adriaan listed as editor on several issues. It appeared mostly in Dutch, sometimes with English content, and according to archival notes the very first issue may even have carried the alternative title Bifocal.
Dating is a little fuzzy, but it seems to have run roughly from 1969 to 1971. What makes it interesting is that the numbering and dated issues suggest it was basically a monthly publication. For example, issue #9 is marked February 1970, #10 March, #11 April, #13 June, and #15 August. That leaves gaps for #12 (likely May 1970) and #14 (likely July 1970), which almost certainly existed even if they haven’t surfaced in catalogues yet. Later on, copies of #17, #18, #20, and #22 from 1970/71 show that the run continued into the following year. Altogether, we can be confident that at least a dozen issues were printed, probably more.
As for access: the Australian Queer Archives (AQuA) in Melbourne list Binky in their periodicals catalogue, with holdings from 1970. In Europe, IHLIA LGBTI Heritage in Amsterdam almost certainly has copies as well, though not everything is visible in their online search system. Antiquarian booksellers in the Netherlands occasionally list single issues for sale, which is how several of the known issue numbers were confirmed.
So while we don’t yet have a complete issue list, it’s clear that Binky was an early and relatively short-lived Dutch gay magazine with an international outlook, published monthly around 1970. Its survival in archives today shows how even smaller, niche titles played a role in building queer publishing networks at the time.
