This is, for the most part, true...

That said, IMHO the best way to get a sense of how big you are, on average, is calcsd.info. It's been revised a few times for accuracy. It's not perfect but it's probably the best data set and size-ranker out there.

You could also check out world population review and maybe adjust it if you want to compare with national averages too, but there's going to be a lot of inference to determine how to adjust it, so just using global data from calcsd is best I think....
