Interesting

Oy, Scalia. Now THERE'S someone who can't decide if the strict law matters or the intent. (You'll notice the "intent" never refers to laws passed within the last sixty or so years, where there might be a Congressman out there who actually remembers the debate on said law.)

One of the things about Bush v. Gore is, they even said it wouldn't be precedent. Meaning they were just bending the rules this one time.

I'm still disappointed and dismayed that Abu Gonzales, a lawyer who advocated that the president circumvent or ignore inconvenient laws and treaties, is going to be the next Attorney General of the United States.

....and the guy named to head Department of Homeland Security was another architect of torture and imprisonment American Style.

Have these people no sense of common decency? I seem to recall hearing somewhere about "Do unto others. . ." Yea, just another quaint idea for true Christians.

Well, the problem is that the Democrats have no spine. Until we in the reality-based community manage a chthonic takeover of the Democrats the way fundies did with the Republicans, they won't.

While disappointing, I can't say either appointment was a surprise. I am actually far more depressed about Gonzales than bush because his term has no limits. We are headed nowhere good.....
