Must be so frustrating for Jack. He absolutely bombed one dive and if he scored decently on that one, he would have easily gotten a bronze medal. The rest of his dives were all solid and scored pretty well.

I just watched the whole thing, it wasn't just one dive he messed up. He was having a really bad day all around. He kept making little mistakes after mistakes.

But even if you take away that bad dive, and instead give him a score of a near perfect dive (100 points like the chinese competitors) it wouldn't suffice for the bronze medal. He did much better in the prelimary and the semifinals where he was constantly in 3rd place.

I have fulfilled my duty and subbed to his OF and I am happy to report it did not disappoint. The lady will NOT turn.

This was the result of the British Diving 3M Olympic trials. The qualifying score required was 480. I don't think that 'only scraped into' does him justice. Unfortunately he had a bad day today, but at least he comes away with a bronze in synchro.
