Accidents happen. What is truly sad is with a zillion scenes under his belt he is broke. Too bad these guys do not make more money.

wow. thanks for posting this. amazing story. i often wonder about the personal lives of porn stars. such a difficult situation. amazing.
Definitely some bad money management going on. Jack is one of the few guys that can demand top dollar for performing. Mandingo, Shane Diesel, Nacho Vidal, and maybe a couple others are on that level. But more than performing, he should be producing his own stuff and running his own business. He's been pissing the money away somewhere.

Yeah. I don't think it's necessarily all on him. I heard Shane Diesel works as a baggage handler for Southwest in Vegas. These guys don't get paid much. Even the females only get 1k or more a scene. these guys are getting paid 500 tops. Unless they have their own website or production company.

I have not kept track of Porn or their stars in years, I just thought it was interesting that the Name Jack Napier is also the real name of the Joker from Batman
Even women don't make big bucks in porn like they used to. Now, it's all about escorting and dancing if you want to be make money money.
I don't recommend doing porn, particularly women. Women are too easily objectified in society. I'm guilty of watching lesbian porn; however, I often watch lesbians scenes where the women are enjoying it (no excuses! LOL).
A JO for a man is about as far I'd say is ok (provided you don't show your face). Men can have serious consequences, too, for being in the industry. And even though male objectification is very real and moderately degrading, it isn't not as detrimental as other aspects of the industry for males: STD's, psychotic people, drugs, reputation, etc. Gay porn does objectify men very much, but men are still on par with other men, if you know what I mean. But don't get me wrong: a man can still be a piece of meat. But I believe it still feels very different for a woman to be a sexual object.

I think Shane is a TSA guy or something, not a baggage handler. But sure, he's not making billions or anything.
I saw a quote from him somewhere that he was going to retire from porn and his studio immediately offered him three times as much money to stay. So there's still a demand there. He directs and produces his own stuff, so maybe he's working it better than Jack nowadays. Being just a hired gun is not the way to go in the porn industry, especially for guys.

Yeah, dig it; for a performer literally in a class almost by himself, you'd think they were deliberately underestimating his value, that and needs serious help with finances.

Ah sorry to hear he is in such a bad shape. Pretty much one of the laidback cool guys in porn. But all in all, its sad that someone like that needs this. He has been in porn for ages, including the rise of internet. So, the way I see it, its more a situation of wasting money and not doing anything with your 'given' talents and network. He could easily be as rich as Lex Steele. On the other hand, having a really large dick doesn't automatically make you a successful businessman of course.

Oh and about the 'big' names that also have a normal day job. I know a few people that are in it, most of them have such a job to not have to explain the gap in their resume after their porn career. As strange as it may seems, the corporate world doesn't consider doing porn 'working experience' 
Poor Jack. When seeing him in a scene or so, he really seems to be a nice guy. Especially when compared with other male 'stars'.

looks like its already surpassed the goal so hopefully hell get better soon. he really does seem to be one of the few genuinely nice people in the industry
I find it interesting that there are so many comments about Jack being broke. That's never been stated by his camp that I have seen. Serious medical emergencies are expensive for everyone. I see the donations as just a way to offset the expenses incurred as opposed to having to carry the entire load on his own. A number of other pornstars have gone similar routes. In fact, Christie Mack had a had one set up for her last year after her ordeal with her ex.

Except that you're trying to correlate the two incidents as comparative necessities for these funds; Jack Napier, as i read the article in the link, was riding around on his motorcycle and got hit by a a car, and was technically dead for three minutes until revived.
Christy Mack, however, was viciously and brutally attacked for no reason by her ex-boyfriend, MMA WAR MACHINE and was really tuned up to the point of a nose broken in two places, fractured rib, and several broken and/or missing teeth. All in all, if it came down to who I'd give my money really to who needed it, Christy'd get 1st.
You're missing the point. Crowdfunding is an excellent means of offsetting costs, be they medical or otherwise. In terms of porn, I think it's especially effective due to the relationships that people form with the actors and actresses in the industry. You seem to be hung up on the varying situations that landed the performers in the hospital instead of seeing that it just makes good economic sense to give an online call to arms a go.
