When I first moved to NY I met him at a big party and had no idea who he was although he did look familiar (but lots of people did!). He was much older but very attractive and we went out a couple of times despite the fact that I had a boyfriend and had no intention of sleeping with him. He was an incredibly nice guy, witty and intelligent and very gracious (although a bit determined) when he 'got' it about my bf. When my mother came into town, he got us tickets to see Margaret and took us backstage to meet her, later having us to their apartment for drinks. Although we eventually lost touch, I'm very sorry to hear about his passing.

I am truely sad. Jack has always been one of my all time favorites. He is one of the most beautious men I've seen. I aquired one of his movies just last week. He was always handsome, hot and nasty and he always performed with such agressive vigor.
I never really understood the marriage to Margaret, although I've heard it said that when she asked him to marry her, he said "but I'm gay" and she replied, "Just a little around the edges dear..."

Man, this is such a downer. Jack Wrangler was the first actor to do porn that actually had acting ability. Not that I ever watched porn for it's critical acclaim or anything like that... this guy just made it more interesting. And he was HOT too. In all honesty, I really can't stand gay porn unless I'm watching a movie with Jack Wrangler... I much prefer straight porn anyday, and even then I prefer old porn to today's lousily produced crap.
Anyway, as many have already said, he led a truly interesting life from his beginings as a shild star in Hollywood to his adult movie career and eventual marriage. Things like this aren't likely to happen anymore without much controversy or the fickle public fatiguing quickly and passing on it with much interest. This guy is and will always be a legend.

Wow. I remember THAT guy. I saw a few of the straight and gay porn films that he was in when I was a teen.
And if memory serves, Jack Wrangler is the only porn star without a prison record to star in both gay and straight porn. He also came from a very well-to-do family, too. He came from a very prestigious family background that were very popular in Hollywood like his father, Robert Stillman that directed movies like Champion, Home of The Brave, and many other films along the way. It was also known that when he started doing gay porn in the 70s, the parents were okay with their son's career.

His passing really saddens me. I read his book many years ago and it helped me deal with the whole "gay thing". Wish I'd had the chance to meet him.
