Thought I’d try out this vase , just about fits length ways.

Can't see that you actually have a pump connected to the jar. There are commercial pump jars, most often called "sun tea jars" or STJ by their makers, that have the conventional pump attachment fittings and soft gaskets at the entry. Just a thin tube from aquarium shop and suck the air out. Yes I know the Americans use those big jars but not sure if I’ve ever seen in the UK
