What the JD does is makes your jelqs more intense and relieves some of the pressure off of your hands. You may not need it as a beginner, but it's a good tool for the advanced trainee looking to boost intensity.

So would you recommend this device over the standard PE with your hands? I am going to be starting a program this week and really want the best and fastest gains! Also, with this device, which package would you recommend. The extender and things like that seem like BS

Slow and steady wins the race. Think of this a penis "body building".
In body building, you do not lift the heaviest weight on your first day, or week. You have to work up to it. Best and fastest gains are two different things. If you want to best gains, then follow the plan.

In body building, people who gain weight, or put on muscle, too quickly get stretch marks. Do you want stretch marks on your penis or the equivilant to that? You still have red spots, discoloration, and brusing marks to look forward too. The slower you go and better care you take care of your penis, the more you will minimize these things.

After going through a couple of cycles, then get the tool. In other words, get it when your body needs it.

You should try to do as much as you can without any supplements or tools for the first few months of training. That way, you get a feel of what works best for you. Once you have several months of training under your belt, you can decide if you'd like to add things to your routine to increase intensity or just to get a totally new stimulus.
