Yep. Jared is having somewhat more success due to his personality, charisma, and charm. He isn’t a great actor either, but he has other soft skills that attract people to him. He was able to remove Jensen from top billing on Supernatural lol.
Jensen is very good looking which has carried him throughout his career. When you start getting older in Hollywood and you only relied on your looks. You start getting less opportunities since Gen Z is coming of age and are younger and attractive as well.

The problem is every role he goes for and gets is the same boring one - macho tough guy. Tough guy on supernatural, tough guy on The boys & macho sheriff on that other show no one watched.
He needs to branch out and go for something different (i thought The Boys was going to be this btw with him & homelander fucking but they instead made them tough guys father & son lmao)

Nah. You do what you do best. I can't quite see him having great success is attempting La Cage aux Folles or something opposite of what he is. He would just look silly.

I agree with this. Look at To Wong Foo. Wesley Snipes was a fail and Patrick Swayze wasn't believable. Both of them usually played traditionally straight, macho, guys. Now John Leguizamo killed it, but he's a comedian and is used to doing characters. And thinking about La Cage, in The Birdcage, you had two of the gays played by straight men (Robin Williams and Hank Azaria), but again they are both comedians and used to doing character work.
It's not to say that Jensen couldn't handle something outside of the macho tough guy, but maybe not going quite that far. I think he could do really well in some heavy drama, something that's not going to require him to be someone totally different. Maybe a film where he plays a single father who was just widowered. Even in Supernatural, he did show some emotional range at times.
Now, going back to La Cage, if he were a little older, I think he might do a good job with the Senator role. That and it would be awesomely hilarious to see Jensen in drag.
