jockstraps are uncomfortable, often causing a chafe if you run.

I think this only happens if your thighs rub together - in which case lycra shorts are probably the answer until you've run enough to get a thigh gap.

The other alternative, that I learned from a few years of competitive nude running, is to develop a bull-like gait involving swinging your legs out a bit as you run!

I had a guy on my football team who...
when he took off his clothes, always immediately put on a pair of tighty whities, they were jockey brand and he seemed to have both the y front type and the pouch type. He would hang out in his briefs until coach yelled for the "15 minutes til dressed" for practice

then he would either put his padded girdle on over his jockeys or sometimes he would put a jockstrap on over them as well then put on his girdle.

we had some of the jockstraps that had the hip and tail pads in them, like the ones tim tebow was wearing a black jockstrap...

In baseball he always wore a jockstrap to hold his cup but would also change into those white briefs before he put on his jock and cup.

Seems like he went to a lot of trouble in the locker room
just to wear a jockstrap but not show anyone his bare ass.
Kind of silly since it was all guys like him
and it sounds like the rest of the guys on the team
were probably just wearing jockstraps bare assed.

Yeah, not sure what his whole deal was. He had no problem stripping down bareass to put on his briefs and then hanging out in his briefs for whatever time we had till coach gave the final dress yell. I am not a compression short fan of any kind so I either wore my jock and wore padded practice pants or wore one of the jockstraps that had the hip and butt pads on it, but either way me and most of the others didn't wear anything under our jocks.

It does seem odd, like since he stripped down to put his briefs on, he was bare assed briefly. I guess only difference in jock on without his briefs would be his ass would be shown/bare for much longer periods of time in the locker room. I wonder was their anything weird or so special or different about his ass compared to all the other guys on the team?

These stories remind me of when I was about 18 or 19 andhome for the summer. My buddies who were two years younger werein my front yard. One of them pantsed the other guy, yanking his shorts down for a laugh. To my surprise, I saw a jockstrap over his white briefs. This would have been around '78, when, at least in my experience, ALL guys wore white briefs, tho' we were taught to pull them off and pull on a jock for sports, which I loved.
The fact that this guy had pulled on a jock over his briefs made me realize that I wasn't the only one experimenting in the bathroom with different combinations of undergear: jock over brief, jock under brief, etc. I'll bet he jacked off constantly in his jock, just like I did.

I was initially a little nervous about getting a 3 inch jock strap because I use it for running. I wore one on a run yesterday and found it very useful... the strap acted like a utility belt for my glasses and ipod!
