So I discovered a very rare 1985 interview of Al Parker online, originally featured in the first issue of Torso. It's a lengthy interview, and within Al Parker sort of revealed his bisexuality. Here's roughly what I found.

1. When he was working at Playboy, he met many beautiful girls and was sexually interested in them, though he was in the meantime becoming more and more attracted to men. The only reason he apparently became not "turned on" by women was because they weren't centerfold candidate for Playboy.

2. He said he'd enjoying doing a straight porn, and wouldn't find it difficult because he enjoyed being with women and saw women sexually once in a while by having a threesome involving him, his male partner, and the woman; and that he find it enjoying to fuck a female. (He also auditioned for Playboy which certainly would involve having sex with a female model.)

Even though in the interview he said he came out as gay to his roommate and said he enjoyed being with a male. I'm not even getting into the fact that he had girlfriends before becoming a gay pornstar (because frankly, I think many gay men back then did have girlfriends).

I'm not biphobic or anything, and I certainly don't think less of him or think him less attractive because of this revelation. However, because I fantasized or idolized him as the rarest gold-star gay god who only had sex with men... well let's just say i won't see him that way anymore.

I felt the same way about Billy Brandt when I read an Unzipped magazine article that he was gay for pay and had a wife and kids. Was madly in lust with him from the moment I seen him in an issue of Freshmen Magazine. I've accepted the fact that those gay magazines and videos misled me about him...and had to move on.

I am categorically against heterosexuals interfering in gay spaces. Let them go to work elsewhere. These people have done nothing good for the LGBT community. They did not go to any rally and did not sign any petition. They remember about gays only when they need money and go into porn, and after the end of their activity they continue to repost homophobic posts on their pages on social networks

Al Parker was working for Hugh Hefner at Playboy Mansion before he appeared in any porn, so this is hardly a surprise. It was the seventies and people had less need to confine themselves to certain roles, or be defined by others. He's been gone a long long time and the world he lived in has changed beyond all recognition. It's great that he's remembered, but what he's remembered for is largely fantasy which was always open to interpretation by the viewer , and what at the time was radical and groundbreaking seems rather quaint over forty years later.

I have a straight friend who will fuck anyone when he's even slightly drunk. He doesn't even care if people knew he fucked a guy. But he's still pursuing women for relationships. I don't know if it's bisexuality or not.
If it's only when he's drunk then he ain't bi

Why do some gay men have a fixation on distinguishing between gay-identified and bisexual-identified men, Particularly in porn or adult content? It’s friggin 2023. Fluidity should not be a big deal or noteworthy.

Most self identified gay men are way too hung up on labels. Men have been fucking other men for thousands of years but the whole notion of a "gay" identity is a mid 20th century idea.

Speak for European men,try saying this shit in my home turf in Africa...... anyway,I think white men are much more fluid in their sexuality and gender expression than African men

Your comment makes absolutely no sense.Terminology regarding sexual identities may have been identified later on but that doesn’t mean that those men who have been fucking other men for years weren’t gay/bi.It’s just that now we have coined a term for it.Labels are not so bad and restricting as you think they are, they’re only definitions. It’s interesting how you never see straight people think this way. You’ll never hear a straight man whine about being labelled straight,I wonder why..?

Maybe African men actually living in Africa but there are a lot of black men in the US who are on the "down low" lol

Yea, maybe African men living in Africa, homosexuality is already called a western import or white man's disease there
Actually the religious hang-ups that Africans have about homosexuality were imported by the white men who colonized Africa and sent missionaries to convert the natives to Christianity. These missionaries even taught them how to have sex. How do you think the "missionary position" got its name? :joy:

Try to tell them homophobia is the western import and watch them chew your head off, they value the Abrahamaic religions like crazy

Atleast it's better than claiming to be gay and fucking women (which is trending nowadays in gay porn industry).
Al didn't fake his sexuality like Arpad miklos who claimed to be gay and had sex with woman on-camera to dismay of a large amount of his audience. Many gay porn stars are doing the same thing.

Everyone who knows Arpad and also Arad winwin in the industry knows they are gay but porn is a job for them both, they will literally fuck anything for money. The way the gay community blacklisted them especially Arad is just terrible,Arad was the upcoming it boy and he was everywhere as his career was moving fast, then after that bi scene,y'all saw him as the enemy.

Yes I do know that there are some gay pornstars who lie about their sexuality which literally makes no sense as straight men were the number one most searched type of porn by gay men last year, these men will even get more fans if they were their true gay selves but Arad and Arpad are real gay men who happen to be pornstars by profession doing their jobs and everyone treated them like complete thrash and it's painful especially for Arad as he's Persian and seeked asylum in the states because of his country's mistreatment of gay people, for him to hear allegations that he's a "fake gay" using the gay community really hurt him,I know this because I have mutual friends with him, that scene literally damaged his career, now he's pretty obscure in porn even on OF as he doesn't make what his fellow pornstars make

I have a friend who's the opposite he will happily fuck women drunk or sober he just loves sex regardless of who its with but he only gets into romantic relationships with men.
