I remember reading an interview with Bacon where he talked about the shower scene. The original idea was for the towel Dillon throws him to obscure any frontal nudity but they could not get the timing right and after many retakes the director decide to go with what they had. Bacon had a no frontal nudity clause in his contract but allowed the scene to appear unedited. He isn't opposed to being nude on film but gets paid more for it.
From the pics here I'd say he had a semi, and that it's of very respectable size, but I wouldn't describe him as overly hung. It wouldn't seem so large on a larger man.
