Chris Kratt still trends. We could write a book about Chris Kratt .. He is obviously a family man .. and a good guy. And we also hope he knows how much we respect him and appreciate the stifled edginess he was allowed to deliver on Zaboomafoo.
It was a kids show, meant for kids. But, as with many educational shows of the past .. the human element was part of the ingrediant - and that included - allowing Men to be Men.
It does seem as though modern TV is all about sanitizing the human element - erasing the body - and replacing it with plain vanilla itzoids.
But Thanks to Chris Kratt, we can all fantasize about what Zaboomafoo "could have been". Imagine all the footage left on the cutting room floor .. because Chris was obviously not shy about flaunting his assets. I bet there's some good footage that got edited out for the 1999-2000 dumbing down of America. But in an alternate universe, Chris Kratt would have been allowed to skinny dip in those remote ponds .. and peel off his wetsuit in front of the camera... and more!
Google Chris Kratt and you can find all sorts of sad junk that kids drew - of their fantasies and misnomers about Chris and his Brother. Sick fantasies. Meanwhile, those of us with imaginations can temper our fantasies to "what might have been", once again, if censorship in the USA, didn't have so much power over what we can show on TV.
