Having read the book, I felt bad for y’all who expected so much of him in the series, so I’m glad someone cleared that up. He’s a remarkable, albeit brief, character on the page, someone you should be devastated by their loss (even by the dog) so it’s a key part and requires someone with lots of charisma and presence who you are drawn to and fall in love with instantly, so he seems like a good choice for the part.
