Just an FYI regarding the edit by moderator. The third picture had a baby in it. It was an ad for cigarettes. The TOS states no pictures of minors and it is there for a reason, no matter how innocent it is. I agree with this rule for a reason...any pictures of minors on a site like this could place it at risk of shutdown. I asked @Mr. LPSG to remove it after @BillM messaged me about it. Thanks for the heads-up Bill. Would hate to be banned for a stupid mistake.

I worked with many former miners at a Federal Agency. Many of these folks became addicted to chewing because you cannot smoke underground.
It was not uncommon to be in meetings as one of the few without a spit bottle and tissues. "Hey MisterB, want a chaw?" Yuck.
You ain't lived 'til you've tried to understand someone with a thick regional accent trying to talk with a huge wad of chewing tobacco in his jowl. Or had someone knock over their spit bottle and spray/splash that gunk on your shirt.
Not only was it difficult to launder out, but you reeked of that smell the rest of the day. After just one experience, I always kept an extra dress shirt and tie on the back of my office door. Just in case...
And it's addictive. It was painful watching some of these guys try to quit. Many confided it was worse trying to quit chewing than actually giving up smoking!
Hah! When I was much younger and helping Dad on the ranch, many of the cowboys smoked. But when they were handling hay they couldn't, so they would chew tobacco. They all carried Red Man, I think that's what it was called.
I was offered some as a joke once, and I took the pouch and smelled it. Ooooo, it smelled so good! Almost like candy with a bite! So I tried some. It was very tasty for all of three seconds. No one ever told me that you had to spit. I swallowed.
Even today when I meet some of the old hands they call me by my old nickname "Martian" or "Marciano" because I turned green.
