In fact, aren’t YouTubers and other social media stars literally classed as “influencers”? Aren’t they paid according to the clout they accumulate as personal “brands”?

I was pointing out that it’s sad that anyone would model their lives after anyone, rather that “person” is known by 10 or 10 million people. That is no real reason to be “influential”. That was the point.
