I so agree that crushes are fun. But the fact is I meet my crushes all the damn time! If a friendship happens (its usually something the other guy initiates because I tend to run from crushes when I can!), I am likely to tell them I had a crush.

Hell gay or str8 most guys feel both freaked out and complimented by it. Especially when they understand that crushing is no excuse for bad behavior, stalking, or relationship pressure. but If I gotta crush I prefer to do it online. It helps the other guy handle it without feeling the pressure of how others are going to perceive him or treat him because of my crush. Besides like I said a crush is likely the only thing that would make this 6'4" 500lb guy run the other way.
