i'd love if stories could be tagged as finished or unfinished. i hate getting into a story and then it just stops

There are some excellent stories on this board, many of them years old and now largely unread. They need putting together as a story and properly tagging. In most cases they need their creators to read them through to sort out typos (typpo's?) and get rid of obvious glitches. Many are episodic, and came to an end when the authors had enough of writing them, or the feedback dried up. Many need a clear ending put in place.
I think authors need to be invited to do the necessary work and upload again.

It's more about how to read a story than how to sort them, but some longer stories have chapters disseminated thought several pages of a same threads, with the comments of the readers in between.
If there was a way to read like only the messages of the author, or only posts marked as "important" by the OP, finding actual chapters to the story could be much easier.
Maybe even add a notification for people who would have "signed up" for a story they like, warning them there's a new chapter.

Yes, please do. Excellent idea...but like all ideas, good and bad...the "devil" in the details...other wise known as execution. May I make a suggestion?
Consider a format not unlike some parts of the fiction story part of Literotica.com. With searchable words that wold lead to titles with story lines the reader/member/is searching for....
See some the authors pages on Literotica...the story index of each of their works lists a date...but also some common "tags" that are searchable. Just a few ideas.
If you are already a "huge gan of erotic stories" I am sure you know all the good ideas and bad ideas and what you like from your own experiences....
One thing...consider doing as Literotica dot com does....do the story...no interrupts and reader comments for pages and pages in the middle between chapters and posts as is now the case of LPSG stories...but at the end...readers can rate and post comments...but NO anonymous comments...that way the stories flow and the comments, if anyone wants to read them...at on a separate thread at the end. I think that would be an excellent upgrade.
Also..there are other websites that post many users and past authors work...some is just "out there" and while is attributable to this or that author...there is no real "copyright" concerns. There was a lot of that on the old....breastarchive dot com....hundreds of size stories and erotic art and stories...just out here...anyone can use and copy...free for all but some excellent work from authors long ago disappeared....decades old. But still excellent work...and some of those story lines were epically long and book worthy well done. The Richard O. Steele series comes to mind among many others.
And if I may...along a similar line....there is, scattered all over...this website and many others...a lot of "cartoon" or "drawing art work" about sex and some of it is about the size of LPSG members and their interests in women and others...lol...but some of it also follows story lines. So incorporating some of that...even a separate section to post that...some members may find that entertaining and useful as well.
I am sure of this though....do what you like. You are the owner...and the rest of us will adapt...LOL.

It is an oxymoron about the LPSG name...this site is rarely about "Support" from others. I have seen it many times, new folks will join...post some experience they have had...and the naysayers start the attacks and ridiculing...and the poster tries to defend themselves for a day or two...then leaves...never comes back.
Why bother sharing a story of this or that erotic experience...if you are attacked? Not to caste any disparagement on any one person...but some members feel it is their duty to attack anyone who reports they saw a guy who had more than 9" of length....and the bigger the experience..the more vicious and dismissive the attacks....so has it relates to your idea to break up stories in to real and fiction...the real should not allow comments at all...none...just like and dislike at the end...and a total of each...no names. I've seen it many times...new woman, or man joins...posts on a thread...then get attacked and disparaged....so they leave and never return. I would be guessing of course...but I bet half or more of the thousands of :"members" who have joined LPSG had some sort of variation of that experience and that is why their profiles have been "inactive" for months and years. Join and leave forever. So any real life story and experience thread and section =would have to take that in to account...or should...the several "biggest penis you have seen" threads...and there are several of them...are the examples...half the threads are others attacking the poster. And then follow the posters page...gone since they posted...never heard from again.
An example...recent...to the thread :biggest dick you have seen in real life"...a new member NevadaCowbear...posted an experience he knew about his friends deceased father who passed about nine years ago...he got all sorts of bad and attacking threads...so why bother a new member might ask...why post anything you know...why contribute...if a more than a few members all they do is attack and disparage other folks posts.
Just my two cents on that....thank you for at least asking for ideas.

Nifty dot org does a decent job with stories but could be modernized. Excited to see what LPSG does. I love stores but gave up trying to read them here.
Agreed 100% and of course Lit is the gold standard here. If we could have a system that is close to what they have I'd be very pleased.
Agreed. Actually tried to buy them a while ago. They definitely could be modernised.

I'm going to have to research to see if there is any story type of software/application available off the shelf rather than having to be built

I think behind the discussion was the feeling that many readers want something not catered for by the many amateurs' stories on the web (most of which are bad). Additionally many writers would like a forum where there was some sort of income.
I've used Kindle for publishing non-porn writing. I know there are people who have done well from Kindle, but my experience (and that of most) is of sales which are just a trickle. XXX stories published on Kindle seem as prone to the poor quality as most of those simply posted on the web, and as a consequence I'm really not keen to buy. The way forward might be a book series with quality control - in effect a Mills and Boon with XXX material. There are in theory some publishers in this sphere, but I'm not convinced there's much competition.

I mostly write hyper futanari and I feel like there is little to no place for it here, so I mostly lurk and post on other platforms, but I feel this is an amazing opportunity for growth.
