Yeah I feel his best bet is just becoming another solo travel vlogger, maybe going around the world and doing strange experiences he's never done before. Sitting in Indiana talking about what you watched on Netflix is tedious stuff.

I love this idea, but I’d like to add to it. Mark needs a fun friend and they need to travel the world and film their adventures together. I feel like, with the exception of Donny, Mark has never had a friend who’s brought out the fun crazy side in him. And you can tell by the way he looks at Donny that he loves that he’s able to do that for him. Donny really does bring out the best in Mark. Mark should have an entire group of friends like that, but he doesn’t. He has one fun friend and a shit ton of boring ones. For some reason, all of Mark’s friends are exactly like him: extremely vanilla creative types. He needs to find a fun and funny friend who entertains him and us and go explore the world. That’s the best way I can see him salvaging his channel. I would be fine with Mark making the boring videos he makes if he didn’t seem so damn sad. If he actually seemed to like the content he was making and didn’t seem so lost personally and creatively, I’d be like - okay, this isn’t for me anymore, but at least he’s happy. But he’s very clearly unhappy and even though I pick on him and criticize, I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t care. I would like to see him reinvent himself and his channel and just have fun. He’s in dire need of a friend group. Even back in the day when Ethan would go to school Mark would just go to the gym and take photos of bikes and go to the local battery shop. His life was lifeless even then. I’d love to see him and an entertaining bff or two exploring Iceland and other places around the world. With his amazing talents and a couple new friends to breathe new life into the experience, I think it’d be a lot of fun to watch.

Does anyone else miss Mark’s summer trips to the lake? Mind you, I hate lakes and nature with a passion, but Mark was so in his element and was so happy, it was just fun to see. I miss his family and honestly, I think he does too. In addition to being lost without Ethan, I think not having that family time to go back to is hard for him. They’re not even my family and I loved them. It was so sweet and wholesome. I think that’s one thing people overlook when trying to figure out why Mark is so lost. Something he had for his entire life is gone. It’s hard when your family all begin living their adult lives and they move away and start having families and you rarely see each other anymore. For years, Mark had those summer trips at the lake to look forward to and now he doesn’t. That’s rough.

Mark should consider a move to Seattle, where Andy still lives. I think Andy would introduce him to some cool people, the nature out there is gorgeous, and coffee! Mark could get into some interesting coffee ventures up that way.

Mark stopped drinking coffee; it was too stimulating... He no longer consumes caffeine or alcohol. I’m not being a smart ass either, he talked about it in a recent video. So he currently doesn’t eat anything, doesn’t drink anything other than herbal tea, water and non alcoholic beer, and that green juice whose company sponsors him, he doesn’t date so I assume has no sex, and he lives in Indiana. I almost fell asleep writing this update. I would say to each their own as long as you’re not hurting anyone, yourself and are happy, but he seems miserable hahaha so I’m not sure where else there is for him to go from here.

This change in lifestyle isnt bad. It’s actually respectable and healthy alternative. It’s just doesn’t bode well for making a living out of documenting your life on social media. Hence the boring takes. He is holding on dearly to being an online personality who makes his living full time from YouTube and social media. It’s risky to put all your basket into social media as audiences are fickle and only watch you for specific things and if they can’t find it they don’t watch and when enough ppl don’t watch there goes the advertisement /endorsement deals. Hope he can find a way to make good money outside of social media and live his modest life(which he seems happy with ) and maybe demote his social media presence to a hobby instead of a livelihood where he makes money to live. Something is gotta give. I hope he is actively looking before money runs dry and he doesn’t burn through his savings.
