Mark Ruffalo

I found it visually interesting alike a revamped take on Frankenstein but my friend said that it was a film that normalised "pedophilia" (since she had a child's brain) which I couldn't get out of my head after. I think it's good to normalise that women can enjoy sex and exploration but the fact that her sense of identity and power had to come solely from sexual awakening makes me wonder if it was a man's pet project.

Exactly. She had a literal child's brain, and spent half the movie doing nothing but fucking, it's one hundred percent a man's vision of a "feminist" message, thinking the most empowering thing a woman can do is have sex. As soon as something interested happened that could be explored further, they just cut right back to the fucking. It bothered me specially because again, it was an infant's brain implanted onto her mother's corpse. The visuals are beautiful and Mark's ass is great, but after the third sex scene I felt like sleeping or walking out of the movies.

have any of y’all even watched any of Yorgos Lanthimos’ work. it’s definitely meant to be very weird and uncomfortable it’s not glorifying pedophilia whatsoever. yes she had the brain of a child so when u think abt it it’s very uncomfortable but the film was never encouraging it. and the third act shows that very well
