I found it visually interesting alike a revamped take on Frankenstein but my friend said that it was a film that normalised "pedophilia" (since she had a child's brain) which I couldn't get out of my head after. I think it's good to normalise that women can enjoy sex and exploration but the fact that her sense of identity and power had to come solely from sexual awakening makes me wonder if it was a man's pet project.
Why is it necessarily glorifying pedophilia though? You could say an adult with developmental issues is "like a child" and in the past that has opened real debates about whether anyone with an intellectual disability has a right to have sexual relations or should be denied them.

The whole point of the movie (and the book it’s based on) is that men want to dominate women. She was attractive when she had a child’s brain because they could assert their influence over her, but less attractive to them once she gained her own independence.

It’s not glorifying pedophilia. It’s doing the opposite.
