Your generalizations remind me of my doves. It is interesting that among doves, it is impossible to tell a young dove's sex until it hits maturity. Then the best clues are how the parents treat it. The males are driven away by the father, and the females are driven away by the mother. Even so, you can't be completely sure unless it lays an egg. Then it's female.

I am not comfortable with generalizing so much for something as personal as sexuality, but it can be of a limited use.

is easy to explain... social status.

a woman dressing like a man, taking on masculine characteristics, is seen as empowering themselves. they are emulating a higher social status. are seen as powerful. once you cross over into "man land" all of the shaming of the weaker female gets left behind.

men dressing as women are seen as failed men. feminine men are seen to be humiliating or demeaning themselves. sinking to a lower social status. instead of being empowered like the masculine women, she's seen as being more than a woman, he's seen as less than a male.

physically, i've been a butchboy and an indie-art chick.
ya can't believe how differently ya can be treated by strangers.
heaps more respect from strangers during my dude days.

When it comes to makeup and 'sexy' things ...kilts for men will attest. mmm i like what men wear under those--- nothing.

Ooh, I dunno though! Check out what happened to the Devils In skirts in Carry On Up The Khyber.

0.48 for a minute, & the climax at 5.26
Indyarocks Videos - Carry on up the khyber best bits

I wonder if the Afghan war would be quicker if the coalition returned to wearing kilts?

Think you've hit the nail on the head. Along with that i'd say that in the fight for womens rights, large amounts of women stood up and took part in the process. I don't see large amounts of "manly men" standing up for a "feminine" man's right to be who he is anytime soon.

Not only that but i don't see large amounts of women standing up for "feminine men" either, it does happen mind you. There's just too many still following the stereotypes.
