It could afford a relatively luxurious and safe life for(a) wome(a)n, but not afford them quality time. Most of what we consider as romantic involves a lot of time and effort, but not necessarily cost, a great way to get mating opportunities if you didn't have the money, power, or status to get it.

It does appear that women prefer a "really cute guy"..
