Menopause/libido

Right. I've started researching it. Pretty pissed off so far because there seems to be some information about the various horrible physical symptoms and available treatments, BUT SO FAR FUCK ALL ABOUT AVAILABLE TREATMENTS FOR LOSS OF LIBIDO. And that's all that I give a shit about really. It's the only aspect of the whole thing that scares me.
Well honestly is the change in hormonal levels that effects the libido. Going to a natural endocrinologist IS highly recommend.
I feel your frustration. Everyone is different & will have all, some or no symptoms....my Mother had NONE. Not even hot flashes...so lucky.
This is a good link to start..

Ummm, I found a new dude just the ticket.

Kidding, slightly.
After a year and a half we are still carrying on like teenagers.

I don’t think I’d be as into it with someone who wasn’t trying to make the most of every moment we can steal together.

Arousal is also mental.
I need lube, I never did before.
But I’m eager to drizzle it on and go.

That’s great! And Yes, I’d say about 60/40 mental!

It’s not that my wife isn’t attracted to me, she’s just not into it right now as much as she used to be. The things that we’ve read is that once this passes her mental attitude should return to normal. And yeah We use lube - it’s fun when she puts it on me - ;).

PS: ‘scarletbegonia’ huh? Hmmm...I’ll guess you're a little into the Grateful Dead? “Mars Hotel” is one of my favorites.

Pretty sure if this happened to men, there'd be a shit ton of research on it.

Well, you knew without asking I was into the blues.

I’m deep into the rootsy side, but I’ve been known to sing Terrapin at full volume in my rolling concert hall..errr....car.

To be fair there is some research and information available. Unfortunately, the first thing that I read was pretty fucking offensive. Apparently loss of libido is mostly psychological, and can be overcome by making a bit more effort to think about sex, and not wearing undies on an evening out. :expressionless:. So many women's health problems seem to be imaginary.

You are entirely correct. I mean look at the fact that Viagra and the like is covered by most drug companies, but birth control is not. Even things like pads and tampons are considered “luxury items” by welfare agencies. Luxury my ass. Let us all free bleed and see how the men in power enjoy a world without that particular “luxury”.

I would rather Big Pharm just fuck the hell off.

Their solution to menopause - HRT, causes breast cancer causing you to be stuck on a cytotoxic merry-go-round
that requires more drugs to manage symptoms because it destroys the immune system.
It's a cash cow.

I'll use traditional medicine that doesn't undermine my health or enriches a corp. on the back of making my condition worse.

Is Nature's Answer motherwort liquid drops a good brand to consider?

I was considering checking out an acupuncturist as well. My supplemental insurance would cover some of the cost.

Im just so damn hot all the time. Woke up on fire, another hot flash I guess. Cold bath is helping!

I would rather die than go on HRT. Eff all that noise. I positively hate how doctors all wanna overmedicate us.

I highly recommend acupuncture. Plus see if you can get them to give some Chinese herbs. It really helped me.

I buy from iHerb which is an American company.

Here are a lot of Motherwort products - tablets and tinctures, and they have reviews.
Search - motherwort - iHerb.com

I'd read the reviews and see which one takes your fancy.
On-line reviews tend to be scathingly honest so I use them as my guide.

I tend to go with tinctures but they ARE bitter so dabbing a finger tip in honey or syrup
and coating your tongue before you take the tincture is advisable.

Maybe you're more a tablet or capsule lass.
It's all a matter of preference.

I love tinctures, and bitter, I'd just add a few drops to a cup of hot tea! I think that sounds good to me. Thanks for rec on iHerb.
