Modelling nude

Have anyone ever modelled nude, for either photos or paintings?

I myself am curious about it. I'm straight, but curious and find it both liberating, but also a bit of a turn-off, to pose in the nude.

Anyway, just curious if anyone actually ever did it and what it was like.

I’ve done it years ago in college and then more recently for a statue as a gift for my husband’s birthday.

I saw a statue in an art gallery I really liked but the subject was male and female. As fortune would have it the sculptor was at the gallery. We discussed the piece and I asked if he would be open to creating another one with two men as the subject matter. This is Oklahoma after all.

He was excited to create a new piece and surprised me by saying I should pose. It took several weeks of sneaking away to his gallery and then some creativity to get him pics of my husband since it was to be a surprise.

I didn’t find it sexually exciting. Standing there for extended periods was boring for me. My complaint was fatigue and a cold room.

Hey Maddox, I was a popular figure model for artists from 2003-2011, and worked between 40 - 80 hours/month. I found it to be challenging and rewarding. The challenge was in creating interesting poses that I could maintain between 30 seconds to 45 minutes at a time, as well as to repeat the same long pose for up to a total of 80 hours (often for art classes and private artists). It was physically demanding and certainly helped me maintain my physique. The reward was in working with the artists themselves. My earlier career was in business, and I found delight in working with highly creative and expressive artists, and seeing myself and my poses through their eyes and interpretation. It was specially rewarding to work with students - knowing that I was helping them master the ability to capture the figure on paper. Not all figure modeling was nude - most high school classes had me wear a Speedo but one after-hours class at a well-funded high school did want their models to be nude. And other artist groups and private artists wanted me in 'costume' - there's a life sized oil painting of me in a whaler's outfit from the 1880's that the artist sold for $15,000.

You can see some of my artists' work in my photo gallery as well as a few photos of me posing.

Barcoded makes good points - figure/artist modeling is NOT sexual, and it requires commitment to return again and again for weeks at a time to allow sculptors and painters to finish their work. But while some rooms were cold, all of them provided space heaters and I sometimes brought my own heated floor mat if I felt concerned about getting chilled. And a high percentage of my work was for three hour shifts with artist groups, where I would run through short poses, moving to medium-long poses and one final pose that might be repeated for 45 minutes or an hour.

If you would like to explore this further, I'd be happy to share my guide to male modeling with you. Just message me.

Functional, cold, fun, empowering, boring, weird, pleasant.

I’ve done it twice in my life. Once for a magazine called drummer. I haven’t found the magazine in my storage or I’d share the information with everyone. The other time I did nude photos for a photographer a few years back. Both times I find the nude posses erotic n truly stimulating. I did ask for breaks more so in the second time I did it because it was art

I too am interested in learning more, as I've very nearly considered signing up.

Hey Spencer, I urge you to strongly consider it if you are already tempted. You will want to spend some time preparing for your first time to make you feel as confident as possible. But it really isn't too hard, and it is worth it to explore a different group of people and to help them refine their artistry and skills as well as to develop your own physique and capabilities. There aren't many male models and we present more of a challenge to many artists/groups as a result. I sent the pdf file to you - hope you enjoy.

I am a huge exhibitionist. This may be in part to growing up in south Florida and being a swimmer so I grew up used to being in next to nothing out in public. I have done (and still do) adult film work and pictures and am always happy to model. I have only done photography so far but would happily do work for art classes and the like if the opportunity arose.

I did nude modelling for a friend's college photography course. Was weird initially being completely naked in front of a friend but after a while I genuinely became completely relaxed.

My ex was an art student while we were dating. The absolute last thing they wanted was a nude model who was an exhibitionist. The point of nude modeling for art classes is simply a naked body to draw, not somebody who's getting off on it.

I enjoy being naked. I wouldn't call that "getting off on it" because I enjoy showing off. You make it sound like I'm going to stand there and be turned on by being naked in front of everyone and sport a big hardon. Not the case. I've studied enough art to know how to stand there and pose as if no one is there.

Modeling is something that I've always wanted to do! Everytime I've tried, the class or instructor isn't taking any males--or they've got a waiting list! So I've given up... now these damn lovehandles -- i'm not as desirable as a model as I once was!

I posed about 25 times in college. I made decent money and could pick and choose jobs based on my class schedule and social life. I fully agree that it was not sexual and it can be not boring and tiring. You also have to have some decent muscles to maintain a stance for so long.

While the cool temp was uncomfortable at times, I am lucky that I don’t lose any length due to temperature. I hang heavy pretty much all the time.

Finally, I will say that modeling brought me some interesting opportunities for sex and dating. Straight ladies presumed I was straight and would approach me in the student union or I’d be approached after modeling when the class was off campus and a private class. The gay guys did the same. Of course, I always had to be prepared for an excuse with the ladies since I had zero interest in pursuing anything with them. I had a few romps, dates and one brief relationship with the gay guys.
I would not do modeling now, even though my body is more defined. I am just more particular now on how I spend my time and I don’t need the extra spending money. But I would still recommend modeling to those who are interested, but also aware that it is a totally non sexual and sometimes tiring activity with some nice cash rewards.

Yeah, did a photo shoot about 2 years ago. Was fantastic! Not sexual at all. In honestly, it was only weird for about the first 2 mins. I’d highly recommend it..... you might even get a blowie at the end ;)

Per my ex, love handles--or anything else about body shape--are usually pretty irrelevant. (For example, the hands-down favourite model their class ever had was a very chubby lady in her sixties!). The students are there to learn about the human form, not just an idealized version. Cis men are screened for nude modeling more stringently than other people because a lot--not all, but according to him a lot--of cis men wanting to be nude models are doing it to get exhibitionistic kicks, which makes the whole experience deeply uncomfortable for the students.

An artist I know said that as a student she preferred to sketch chubbier female models - more interesting shapes and shadows to capture. One life model decided to shave her pubes one week and they found that was a disaster artistically. :D
