I'm not sure quite where you understand this from? A lot of gay men are also not feminine and those that are, are just very comfortable in themselves.
Also being a more 'feminine' guy doesn't make you a bottom, they can be top as well.

It depends where you live. In the centre of big cities with large gay scenes it can feel that way - but outside of those areas the reverse can be true.

i know not scientific, but there is a thread (sorry don't know how to link it doh!!) under the AAGM forum 'top or bottom and why' which shows self selected; top 23%, bottom 43% vers 34% - ok relatively low numbers but would seem to indicate that there are far fewer tops out there than bottom guys/bottom vers guys??

Yes it has diversified, but LPSG is a large penis appreciation forum first and foremost. So you could say that’s more likely to attract bottoms. A “nice butthole” forum would probably turn out different responses.
