i dont always wake up to a woody. it all has to do with your REM sleep. if you wake up directly from REM you will have morning wood. if you have been out of REM for a few minutes or more, you may not still have a woody. nothing to do with being healthy.

Maybe 3 of the 7 days a week I have morning wood but it is for sure not something that you have to worry about. If you can't get it up in general that is one thing. However lack of that breakfast boner is nothing.

I'm under the impression that one of the main causes of morning wood is a full bladder, you get a hardon which prevents you from being woken up prematurely by the need to piss, or alternatively to stop you peeing yourself in your sleep. I suppose if you have a capacious bladder or simply tend not to drink many fluids in the hours before sleep I imagine you might not get such a full bladder and therefore might not have such raging morning wood.

I think its been found that all men get some degree of erection during sleep though even without a full bladder, I don't think not waking up with it means you're unhealthy unless you also have erection problems during your waking hours.

I must say I tend to wake up with a big ol woody most mornings but I generally need to go piss really badly as soon as I wake so doing anything fun with it would be pretty much out of the question until I've emptied my bladder.

That is something I've kind of wondered about myself. I generally don't need to piss when I wake up...I usually don't until an hour or two after I've woken up.

No problems getting and maintaining an erection when I'm awake and I know I get erections while I'm asleep as there's the odd time that I wake up to a wet dream. Just thought it was odd that I've never really had the morning wood experience.

consider your self lucky that you dont need to piss first thing in the morning.. There is nothing worse then trying to piss through a morning wood..

Saying its odd that you never had the morning wood experience is no more odd then never having a wet dream i guess. I get morning wood but never had a wet dream.. Go figure..
In the end as long as your not showing any signs of ED then its perfectly normal.

I had morning wood when I was younger, then it went away as I got older. I started L-Argenine a couple months ago, and now I sometimes wake up with a semi. It is kinda nice! :)

Every morning without fail...sometimes it wakes me up several times through the night, just tuck between the legs and go back to sleep. Been that way since I can remember.
Peace

I don't think you're odd, every body is different, there are some general rules, but there are also always exceptions to these rules, and so long as you don't have any erection problems I think it's just the way you're built.

I get morning wood all the time. Sometimes I need to piss sometimes I don't. I also noticed increased frequency of morning wood after I started taking L-Argenine.

If there's any question, you can always do the "Postage Stamp Test" - before bed time, take a strip of postage stamps (low denomination, of course), wrap them around your shaft, then lick and stick (the back of the stamps, not your cock-head). If the stamps are torn at the serations when you wake up in the morning, you know you had a boner while you were sleeping. If the stamps are hopelessly stuck to everything and look like paper mache, you had a wet dream as well. Or you pissed yourself.

As a periodic shallow sleeper, I can somewhat attest to this. I experience at least 3 nights a week of shallow sleep and it does seem I have an erection on the mornings I awaken from a good deep sleep. I hadn't associated the lack of a morning erection with non-REM sleep... I just thought I was too exhausted to get hard. LOL

i could also count on my two hands how many times i had this classic "morning wood" in my life.
i'm much more likely to wake up semi-hard.
i think this might have to do somehing with the fact, that i always needed physical stimulation to get 100% erect. even as a boy, i never got fully erect just by looking at porn magazines, ect, i needed some "help" from my hands to achive that.

and while i'm asleep i'm not likely to rub my cock, so thats why i'm only semi-hard, i guess :)
