42. There is no formula. It's just what it is.
Do you take the average temperature that people would consider to be chilly and the temperature which is low enough to drain the body temp and then start multiplying?
i.e if 15degrees centigrade was chilly, -15degrees centigrade potentially fatal, difference=30degrees so 2 4 8 16 32 would mean chills would have to multply more than 4.75 but less than 5

...well, how many times would your chills have to multiply before you froze to death?
Its the same amount of licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. Give or take 5 licks because everyone is different.
