Ugh! Why won't it let me delete my previous message? I've deleted them before when I messed them up too bad. Is it because it is the start of a thread?? Oh well. Obviously I meant to type COLD wave......

its so fucking cold here in NW Alabama! Lows tonight are going to be 10-15....wind chills 0 to -10. I'm staying warm by staying inside, though it sucks donkey balls when I have to go out and smoke. You'd think I'd take the opportunity to quit but...

Going to be 15 here in Dallas! Coldest it's been in the 13 years I've lived here.

    Don't coddle people. :biggrin1:

It's been cold in south Florida. Last night it went down to 38 degrees F here.

In the low temps area of the state it says Tallahassee went down to 18 last night.

I fixed it for you. Meanwhile it's very cold in NYC, I'm wearing layers when I go out.

    Thank you!

It was 18 last night in Dallas. Tonight the forecast is 13. Record is 12 so we'll see if we have a new record in the morning. The record was set in 1977

Supposedly the unusual cold snap on both sides of the Atlantic and indeed across the northern hemisphere is down to El Nino. That is news from our met office at least.

Must be Socal? Only place I've heard of in the US with those temps.

Well I have to say I'm disappointed. I was hoping to read lots of stories from couples whose power went out or whose heater can't keep up with the -10 wind chill and so they have been in bed humping like bunnies in a desperate attempt to keep warm......

Our cold broke for a day. It was 68 today and beautiful, but it's only supposed to get to 49 tomorrow.

so all we have to do is get rid of Fernando Torres and this freezing nightmare will be over.

    sounds good to me.

as for how i am keeping warm, i have skinned 16 beautiful 18 year old virgins and have made a quilt from their skin and i am sitting in it and i have made a fire and am stoking it by burning $100 bills while i laugh like crazy.

oh wait...that was last week

I know several people who live in Fla., and they're all gobsmacked by the weather. Florida crops freeze and the next thing I'm reading is that we're going to be paying (a lot) more for strawberries and oranges. So what's new?... Hang in there Mem.
That's what I've read too. All I know is:
    A) I physically cannot tolerate and despise the cold.
    B) New Jersey is a slab of ice...and so am I.
    C) Winter is nowhere near over.
    D) Global warming my ass! I dunno where it's warming, but it sureashell ain't here. If I should bump into Al Gore, I'm gonna personally betchslap him.
