Negging

All these girls negged me pretty hard in college when I asked them out. But it’s all in the game, almost 4% of the ladies I asked out ended up falling for me.

“Are you sure you’re wearing deodorant?”
“No and please stop following me home!”
“I’m not interested, I’m sure I’m not interested. No, my mom is not interested either.”

“Are you sure you’re wearing deodorant?”

“I’m not interested, I’m sure I’m not interested. No, my mom is not interested either.”

*blink*
Brilliant INCEL/PUA parody... Or INCEL/PUA's complete lack of self awareness.... I can't tell anymore.

  • On a first date from a dating app, I almost invariably hear "you're SO much prettier in person." Could it be negging? Or is it that I've picked photos that show my personality/hobbies and not just ones to grab male attention? Yeah, considering how often I hear it, it's gotta be the latter... they can't all be PUA dudes.
  • "When I first met you, I thought you would be boring and uptight in bed. Holy fuck, am I glad I was wrong! Your blowjobs are legendary!" Negging or not? I think if it were from a guy who WANTED me to look like a trollop, maybe it would be negging. But since it was from guys who liked that I look and act like a proper lady in public but am uninhibited behind closed doors, I think its a compliment on my talents.
I think the first is definitely a compliment, I'd take it that way :)

The "I thought you would be boring and uptight in bed" part of the second is classic negging.. but I think in that context it's not ;)

I don't think it's possible to go through life without inadvertently negging someone now and then. Even something like "you look better with glasses" could be a neg.
But if a guy approaches you and the first thing out of their mouth is a neg then it's usually a PUA asshole : unamused:

Negging is just one of the tools they use, I honestly think that every woman that's actively dating should skim a few PUA "guides" so they can catch the more subtle sociopathic little tricks they use. Obviously not every guy that touches you is "Kino Pinging" you, but it's easy enough to spot a pattern of PUA behavior.

Just the terms and their abbreviations and how they're casually interspersed in their conversations is enough to turn my stomach:

Kino Escalation
Statement of Empathy
Compliance Momentum
Emotional Spiking
Sexual Hook Point
Survival and Replication Value

People that write this are sociopaths

Is this one... ? I know it doesn’t set well with me .. but maybe I’m too sensitive..
“You really look good for your age”
Or... wow you are really sexy for your age...

How about “you really are sexy” ...period....

I had one college kid tell me flat out "You look hot to me," as if to say "I'm not sure about anyone else."
Yep..have heard that one too....and that’s just how it hit me..

I don't know. As a Southern gentleman if I heard another guy saying anything like that to a woman I would probably punch in him the throat, not to save your honor but on behalf of all true Southern gentlemen.

You're either from Texas or Georgia! LOL!

What is r/seduction? And I never understood negging. Why can’t people just give a compliment like a grown up?

If i'm not mistaken no one explained so i guess i will. r/seduction seems to me to be a subreddit on reddit.

Seduction, Self-Improvement and Pick-up

Reddit is a site kind of like this one. Where people got to talk about issues and what not. As far as i can tell there's a subreddit for just about any and everything. With this specific subreddit being about the below.

>Help with dating, with a focus on how to get something started up, whether the goal is casual sex or a relationship. Learn how to connect with the ones you're trying to get with!

Not exactly sure if it still belongs in the same group with the others mentioned. Not sure why it was mentioned in the same breathe as those others to begin with because i'm not subbed to it. But like i said. It's a subreddit. Which is like a specific group created by people for a specific process or a multitude of processes. Kind of like this subreddit.

Is reddit's version of lpsg. Just much more focused.

Before opening this thread I knew what incels were, but I’ve never heard of “negging” and thank god @nailz posted the PUA link because I was so lost lol. This forum is the most interesting to just sit back & read.

Btw incels make me want to strangle someone...namely them.

I hate this mostly because I’m such a huge fan of good sarcasm

Gotta say, I am not a fan of sarcasm from total strangers trying to entice me to be interested. No thanks to cut downs.

not a fan of sarcasm at all according to the definition of sarcasm:

1 : a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain. 2a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual.

I love ironic humor when it's actually IRONY. people don't fucking understand what irony is anymore, i swear.

I sometimes view negging as a simplified form of one of the time wasting, pointless Games People Play as described by Eric Berne in his book by the same name.

He gives some of the games interesting and playful names. In my opinion, they have more literary merit than ‘negging.’ For example: NIGYSOB stands for the game “Now I Got You, You Son Of a Bitch.”

Neil Strauss, original founder of the Pickup Artist community (I’m not gonna lie-yes I watched that show) gets snaps for his eye makeup.

As of 2015, he was calling out the online negging community for ... honestly I couldn’t be bothered to read it, I was just looking for more funny pics of him and his fuzzy hats :)

The Man Who Helped Invent Pickup Artist Culture Now Sees It As "Hateful"

Worthy mention: spellcheck keeps trying to correct me each time I write negging ... it thinks I meant to say begging.

Shucks. I was not aware of how much sarcasm was defined by victimization. I like good irony

Also I took a serious topic that hurts women and turned it into a frivolous complaint for me. Ew
