Amen. Nelly's achieved great success from very humble beginnings, and continues to give back to his hometown. What's trash are the snide little comments posted by members who constantly try to out do each other with their constant put downs of people that are mentioned.

Do you really have to keep suggesting this racial problem Alecia? Have you ever considered that maybe people are put off by the fact that Rappers are always perceived as cocky? Unfortunetly, for this case, majority of the well known rappers are black...

Quite honestly, I don't care about their race... I am a huge fan of people who are modest as apposed to being full of shit. I make the same comments about eminem.

There are a hell of a lot of other celeberties in here that are cocky and have bad attitudes but people stay on topic with them. By the way how many of you know that Nelly raises millions of dollars a year to help fight Leukemia, or that Snoop Dogg coaches youth football teams and donates his own money to buy equipment. And I'm still waiting on specific reasons that make rappers cocky. Here is why I think a lot of guys here hate rappers. Black men with lots of money, fame, and success. And on top of all that he's black so everyone assumes he has a big ole dick.

Thanks for pointing out the good points, some people though they say they're not racist and perhaps they might not be. It just seems they like to come with anger and disrespect for people and making big generalizations. Rap is not trash, I could say country music is trash and you wouldnt like it, but I have respect so I dont say anythng. I would like if people would also have respect and keep their hate for certain things to themselves, no need to bring it up here. If you want to start a thread in the et cetera section about how you hate rap and how it's horrible and all rappers are gangstas that are going to shoot you up....go ahead, but leave it out of here.

I can honestly say I am not racist. I don't care what colour you are. If a black man climbs to power, that is fine with me. If an asian man does the same.. that's great.

He's wicked controversial, and definitely anti-estamblishment, but you won't catch him telling kids to buy drugs, steal, kill people, etc. Also check this wiki article out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hip_hop_music .
