I guess. But that extreme reaction and his thoughts of violence are pretty disturbing and arouse my suspicion. Reminds me of the "gay panic" defense many heterosexuals have used when on trial for gay bashing. As if their disgust somehow excuses their behavior.

I get where you're coming from, and if he were responding to some sort of misunderstanding it'd be one thing, but the old man started jacking off in front of him. If that had happened to a young woman on the subway, I think a similar emotional response would be understandable.
I just don't see the need to attack Noah's character when he's the victim of sexual harassment.
