I thought it was really dull to start... something out of a west end music and not one of the better ones!
Soon it brightened up, the weird tree thing was kinda cool and then the music from Britain. Was glad Amy Winehouse got a song in that list!
The NHS bit was quirky but kinda cool! Having Voldermort and the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was weird but fun!
They took way too long for the countries to come out, was dragging and I went for a bath.
I was initially really underwhelmed at seeing Steve Redgrave of all people carrying the torch. I believe that if a celebrity had to light it, it should have been David Beckham as someone who came from London, came from nothing and is someone everyone can relate to.
Giving the younger generation the torch to light that immense (and very impressive) massive torch was something very special. It had a nice story behind it and was really symbolic (one mini torch for every country, eventually coming together as one for the final!). I really loved this.
Paul McCartney coming out proved just how old he has become. His voice is beyond haggered and he just isnt relelvant anymore. He shows up at every big English function (olympics, jubilee etc) and ruins it every time!
The fireworks were amazing, given the small budget they actually had for it. All in all a varied night, some good and some not so exciting but all in all a really well done ceremony! Roll on Tom Daley
