Patrick Swayze RIP

Never saw one of his movies, never particularly went for his looks.

But a friend of mine in LA was introduced to him once, and said Patrick Swayze was the most beautiful man he'd ever seen.

And to have a reputation as a gentleman in Hollywood?

R.I.P.

Darn, I knew his time was near; but it's still an unpleasant surprise. I feel like I grew up with Patrick Swayze as his movie career kinda took off when I was in high school. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. :frown1:

In high school, they used to play that Dirty Dancing ballad..."The Time of My Life" TO DEATH.
Women were crezzy over Swayze.

His very first movie and those of you might or might not have known this is Skatetown USA, featuring Scott Baio, Maureen McCormick, Flip Wilson, The Unknow Comic, Ron Polillo(Horshack), an 18 year old looking Katherine Kelly Lang(of The Bold And The Beautiful), and others presented on this disco flick from 1979. While it was not that great of a movie and it really dates itself further than its release dates...there are some moments from classic Swayze clips. You could tell it was a taste of good things to come later.

He was an incredible entertainer and man. He was trained in classical ballet, which explains why he did so well in Dirty Dancing. He was indeed one of the good guys.

Indeed, he was one of Hollywood's gentlemen. Couldn't really describe myself as a 'fan', but his passing is sad all the same. Often it is the deaths that are so long expected that are the hardest to deal with.
