PIE

I hate pie.

All kinds.

I feel physically sick when near any form of pie, and I cannot physically sit at a table where other people are eating pie, it makes me feel that ill.

Another vast right-wing conspiracy is uncovered.

Bwa-ha-ha!

Another favorite of mine is lemon merangue pie. Not the cooked kind, but the kind made with Borden's sweetened condensed milk. It must have a genuine graham cracker crust, or forget it. And the crust must be baked in a Pyrex glass pie plate.

Hey Dufus, that's know as a Lemon Icebox Pie and the crust is not baked.

Thanks for the correction Pappy! But I do remember the pies being baked to brown the egg-white merangue topping. It was the only pie I liked as a kid, and I probably ate more slices than I can count.

Key lime most DEFINITELY!

Mmmmmmm....

My aunt used to make this fantastic key-lime-type pie with mango puree that was outstanding. I'll have to ask for that recipe.

One kind that I forgot about has to be added to my list: mincemeat. Last night I had a piece of mincemeat pie so good it almost brought tears to my eyes. With my love for food, it's a wonder that I'm not big as a house!

I appreciate many things served with whipped cream......*wink wink*

I just like good old bumbleberry.

Though the spice and sourness of rhubarb/raspberry leaves me bewildered and lusting for more.

... sometimes I also long for the dependability of apple.

Well now.... I must say... GIVE ME SOME PIE!

I love pie... all types of pie... all flavors of pie... and naturally, love the toppings that come alone with it.

Now I am going to have to go and buy me some pie... hungry. :p

Apple, Lemon Meringue, Blueberry, Key Lime, Chocolate Silk, Boston Creme (really more of a cake), Lemon creme (aka: icebox), and more I know I'm forgetting.

Let's not forget that cheesecake is technically pie, so there goes another on my list of favourite pies: raspberry fudge cheesecake!

Ok ,
If we are going to go there ,that opens up a whole host of other possibiliities. I have to say I hate graham cracker crust on cheesecake. The molasses in the cracker overwhelms the delicate flavour of the cheesecake. I love to make new york style baked cheesecake with a lemon shortbread cookie crust. I then glaze it with apricot puree or preserves and cover it with mango, papaya, kiwi, strawberries, nectarines, blueberries, blackberries, grapes, etc... It usually incites violence among family members so proceed with caution... LOL!
