Yesterday the United Nations added its voice to a land protest in New Zealand.

Ihumātao is Auckland's oldest settlement, but in 1863, the land was illegally confiscated from Māori. More injustices followed, which have not since been addressed.

Plans to build a 480-house subdivision on the land have been passionately protested. Now, the UN says the subdivision should be reconsidered.
