Remember when....game

you would sit on the folded down armrest of the car in the front seat ( so you could see out), and if your mom stopped fast, she would hold out her arm in front of you to keep you from going forward

you actually had to make good grades to be passed to the next level in school

there were no video games or computers, and you had to be creative to entertian yourself, i.e board games, stick ball, kick ball etc

bigwheels, stretch armstrong, Big Trax, Electronic Football from Matel, GI Joe, lincoln logs, legos (60's and 70's)

gasoline was 37 cents a gallon

you could ride in the back of a pick up truck

Remember drive-in theatres, or even better, drive in restaurants? Girls on rollerblades, and very short shorts, who would hook the tray on your car door?

This was a bit before my time, but there was still one in Barrie Ontario in the late '70s.

Remember hating the taste of alcohol?

Remember when you could sleep on the couch and wake up without a sore back?

Remember when you could eat pizza or orange juice before bed?

Remember when the only "porn" you had was the underwear section of the sears catalog?

Remember when you'd come home with 3 large shopping bags (paper, of course!) filled with candy (that was NOT poisoned) on Halloween?
Growing up in NYC 3 shopping bags was easy! I always thought I might get an LSD apple. Wishfull thinking. Even then there were tales of razor blades in apples plus we had to throw out any loose candy! circa 1965
