It used to stop completely around 2 or 3 AM. They would show a picture of the American flag blowing in the breeze and the national anthem would play in the background. Then the screen went to a test pattern or became snowy.

Yes. Channel 9 in New York and that was it. They would stay on later than anyone. I miss those days.
