Depends on your local laws. Technically hiring an escort doesn't have to involve sex. There are people out there (mostly those with severe disabilities) who hire escorts just to talk or experience physical touch (from someone other than a nurse or therapist) which is perfectly legal.

For the most part these days law enforcement is more concerned by sex trafficking and/or underage experiences rather than straight up consensual adult prostitution. So... you should be fine as long as you pick someone who declares and appears to be 25 or over.

Always be upfront about exactly what you want.

I know a few SW's and I honestly wish for them that there were more avenues for this. The problem with an unregulated grey market industry like sex work is that it makes it really difficult to create spaces and processes to collect money above board.

Imagine doing this for a side hustle, or to fill the gaps your day job doesn't, or you're supporting a career that isn't well monetized, anything really. Then imagine that you're talking with a client, and you clear your day of things that might pay but are less lucrative or you cancel plans, and then they ghost on you an hour before the appointment because it turns out they're a freeloading time waster who just gets off on the conversation (yes they're out there and they're legion). You're then not only out the appointment, but you've also been scammed out of emotional labour, or more aptly sext-work in the arrangements because you've had to entice them with what you thought was a lead into something real, when really they were taking advantage the whole time.

Deposits should really be the norm, and it sucks that they really can't be. Obviously this works both ways, but Im willing to bet that time wasters are far more numerous among clients than workers.

Great thread and to give a bit of my experiences.

To start with the great:
1) I had an amazing regular that when I was in NYC I would message him about a week in advance to make sure he was available and the day that would work for him best.
